Eyes on ICE: Train-the-Trainer - Immigrants' Rights · No Kings

Abusive immigration enforcement poses a threat to us all but places non-citizens at particular risk. This session will equip participants to train others on core Know Your Rights topics such as the right to remain silent, the right to refuse to consent to searches, and the right to record ICE and other law enforcement officials. We will also cover best practices for reducing risks when exercising rights. – By registering for this event, you agree: (1) that Indivisible and ACLU can contact you about No Kings and other ways to take action or support their organizations and otherwise use any data collected from or about you on this form according to the applicable privacy policy: Indivisible Privacy Policy (https://indivisible.org/privacy-policy) and ACLU's Privacy Statement (https://www.aclu.org/about/privacy/statement); and (2) subject to its privacy policy, Indivisible may also share the information you provide to other No Kings partner organizations, which may also contact you.

California employees: "at-will" employment does not give your employer unlimited authority to fire you.

Under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), employers cannot terminate workers based on race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, pregnancy, gender identity, age (40+), disability, sexual orientation, medical condition, marital status, or military/veteran status.

Wage theft in San Dimas retail jobs is more common than most workers realize. From unpaid bag checks to missed meal breaks, these small violations can cost thousands per year. California law protects your right to overtime pay.

Europe’s Gas Problem - Dominus Owen Markham

There’s a word that tends to send people into a mild panic, and that word is rationing. It conjures images of wartime queues, government officials handing out little cardboard coupons…

If they're telling you that you don't need a lawyer...
that should raise a flag.

Insurance companies are trained to pay as little as possible.

It's worth getting a second opinion so you know where you actually stand.

Workers in warehouse settings often face unique challenges when reporting sexual harassment. Fear of retaliation is real, but California law protects employees who speak up.

Recording ICE or other federal agents in public is a First Amendment right. Not just for journalists, for everyone. Record, do not obstruct, and know your phone still needs a warrant to be searched. Also, know the difference between a judge-signed warrant and an administrative one.

How many people know these rights before it matters?

A thread on what California retail workers should know about workplace harassment:

🔹 FEHA applies to ALL employers—no minimum employee count for harassment claims.
🔹 Emotional distress damages are uncapped under California law.
🔹 Harassment can be a single severe act or a pattern of conduct over time.
🔹 Retaliation for reporting is an independent violation—and strengthens your case.

Pregnancy discrimination in the workplace is illegal under California's Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), which applies to employers with five or more employees—much lower than the federal threshold of 15. California also offers up to four months of Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL) and an additional 12 weeks of CFRA baby-bonding leave after PDL ends.

California workers: did you know that ancestry is explicitly listed as a protected class under the state's Fair Employment and Housing Act—separate from race and national origin?

Discrimination based on your ethnic heritage, lineage, or background can take many forms: denial of promotion, ethnic slurs, pressure to change your name or accent, or being labeled a poor "cultural fit."
