Cheviot Court in the Knightswood area of Glasgow. It's one of five multistorey residential tower blocks constructed along Kirkton Avenue in the 1960s. With each one around 24 storeys high and containing 138 flats, they were designed to replace the traditional sandstone tenements which were being demolished in large numbers across the city at this time.

Someone in the Kightswood area of Glasgow seems to have been having a bit of fun with this option over the weekend ... at least I hope that's why there are currently reports on it of a skunk, a wild boar, bobcat and a mountain lion loose on the streets around Knightswood Park!

This Glasgow Corporation Electricity Department Lucy box on Dykebar Avenue in Knightswood is the only one I've come across with a street lamp base fitted to its top. The weird thing is that the lamp would most likely have been operated by the Corporation's Lighting Department, which usually had their own similarly branded Lucy boxes.

One of the distinctive corner bow windows of the Knightswood Community Centre. Designed in a Modern Movement style in 1938 by Thomas Somers (who also designed the city's Kelvin Hall), the first phase wasn't completed until 1950, some 25 years after the first homes were occupied in this newly developed Glasgow suburb. It was 1971 before the rest of it was finished.

Dunronald in the Knightswood area of Glasgow. Designed in an Arts and Crafts style, it was built around 1906 for the manager of Yarrow Shipbuilders following its move from London to Glasgow. This may explain the rather Tudoresque details on this house.
