"Currently, one in five children in our wealthy country lives in poverty; in Düsseldorf alone, that's 15,000 children, and none of the politicians are seriously considering changing this. In fact, poverty is likely to increase, both here and worldwide. As always, the children are the ones who suffer. Poverty, coupled with a widely acknowledged unjust education system, contributes to their downward mobility. It's a scandal that receives far too little public attention. The mural is already generating discussion, which is exactly the intention.
