Theweleit: It’s not the time for such personal underlining. A few weeks ago, there was an interview with Herfried Münkler in the Süddeutsche Zeitung. He can be seen with a thinking forehead. In the interview, he makes many predictions about what we can expect from Putin, Europe, and Trump. Arbitrary assessments, the vast majority of which will probably never materialise. The horrors of war, the terrible reality, the torn bodies, the destroyed lives, the societies devastated by war are not mentioned in this cool strategic speech. It is so completely inappropriate. The only real thing about this speech is the excessive overestimation of the speaker’s own importance. This also applies to the photos and statements of Jürgen Habermas in the same newspaper a few days later.
Records presented at the hearing showed that in a group Signal chat with other agents, which Exum described as a support group, he wrote in part: "I fired 5 rounds and she had 7 holes. Put that in your book boys.”
In a message to another recipient, Exum sent a news article about the event followed by the message: "Read it. 5 shots, 7 holes."
When Christopher Parente, an attorney for Martinez, asked Exum what he meant by those messages, he responded: "I'm a firearms instructor and I take pride in my shooting skills."

Last week SpaceX (the entrepreneur’s rocket company) and Musk were sued by eight engineers who said they were illegally fired in 2022 for raising concerns about alleged sexual harassment and discrimination against women. The plaintiffs allege that they experienced harassing comments from co-workers that “mimicked Musk’s [Twitter] posts” and created a hostile work environment. The court filings claim Musk also participated in a video making light of sexual misconduct which, inter alia, demonstrated the “correct” way to spank a co-worker.

Morgen hat mein ältestes Kind Geburtstag. Am Tag nach seinem Geburtstag läuft eine Besprechung der 100 sehr kurzen Gespräche auf SWR. Der Schnee ist noch da, aber die Welt beruhigt sich nicht. Ich habe angefangen, die von Matthes & Seitz neu aufgelegten “Männerphantasien” von Klaus Theweleit zu lesen. Möglicherweise schreibe ich ein Lesetagebuch dazu. Denn leider ist dieses 50 Jahre alte Buch gerade wieder sehr aktuell.
