WHO WILL SURVIVE LACKADAY HOUSE?

When Zeb Wyckham is summoned to a wealthy relative's remote Gothic manor, he is horrified to find all the people he least wants to see in the world: his estranged brother, his sneering cousin, and his bitter ex-lover Gideon Grey. Things couldn't possibly get worse.

Then the master of the house announces the true purpose of the gathering: he intends to leave the vast family fortune to whoever marries his young ward, setting off a violent scramble for her hand. Zeb wants no part of his greedy family—but when he tries to leave, the way is barred. The walls of Lackaday House are high, and the gates firmly locked. As the Dartmoor mists roll in, there's no way out. And something unnatural may be watching them from the house's shadowy depths…

Fear and paranoia ramping ever-higher, Zeb has nowhere to turn but to the man who once held his heart. As the gaslight flickers and terror takes hold, can two warring lovers reunite, uncover the murderous mysteries of Lackaday House—and live to tell the tale?

That's What I'm Talking About...

I enjoyed reading the historical M/M Regency romance
The Duke at Hazard by KJ Charles.

"The Duke of Severn is one of the greatest men in Britain. He's also short, quiet, and unimpressive. And now he's been robbed, after indulging in one rash night with a strange man who stole the heirloom Severn ring from his finger. The Duke has to get it back, and he can't let anyone know how he lost it. So when his cousin bets that he couldn't survive without his privilege and title, the Duke grasps the opportunity to hunt down his ring-incognito.

Life as an ordinary person is terrifying... until the anonymous Duke meets Daizell Charnage, a disgraced gentleman, and hires him to help. Racing across the country in search of the thief, the Duke and Daizell fall into scrapes, into trouble-and in love.

Daizell has been excluded from polite society, his name tainted by his father's crimes and his own misbehaviour. Now he dares to dream of a life somewhere out of sight with the quiet gentleman who's stolen his heart. He doesn't know that his lover is a hugely rich public figure with half a dozen titles. And when he finds out, it will risk everything they have..."

I just posted a review for "The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen" by K J Charles! Overall, a compelling romance with characters who felt very real. My favorite part was Joss Doomsday’s arc about control. 3.5/5 stars. https://wordpress.com/post/meadowphillips.wordpress.com/38

Do you like characters who hide their heart behind snarky comments? Do you like stories about men who love men? Do you like murder mysteries? Do you like stories set in Oxford between 1892 and 1905?

Then I recommend
Death in the Spires
by KJ Charles.

I really loved it! ^_^

I'm loving "The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen" so far! I was pleasantly surprised by the sex scene in the first chapter (it was GOOD!), as well as the book mentioning trans people in a way that I feel was very respectful, especially for the era where it's set. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much the plot has grabbed me. I'm six chapters in and excited to keep reading!
