With local ports of call and a couple of day-hikes. For most of the 3 weeks I was there, it was "Indian Summer" weather - unusual but locals were loving it. 50+ years of wisely state-invested oil & gas revenues have transformed the country's built and social #infrastructure. The egalitarianism of the #culture has echoes in #Minnesota

Steinar Bang@phgsng Yep! Kirkenes is as far east as Alexandria in Egypt.
(it's cheating a bit, since the longitudes are spaced closer together when you get closer to the poles, but still...)
But #Kirkenes still runs on Oslo time because anything else would be too confusing.
And heh... during winter you don't have any sun to worry about and during summer the sun is up all the time anyway... so... 🙂
