No-one has voted for a 2 child cap on Universal Credit, and no-one has voted against it, either. Quite a few commentators are wrong on this.
It was the Commons's response to the #KingsSpeech. The #ScottishNationalParty's amendment wasn't making or changing any law at all.
It was to change a thank-you note from "Thank you, Kingie." into "Thank you, Kingie, but you forgot to mention #UniversalCredit."

Whilst the #ScottishNationalParty made #UniversalCredit their single opposition issue, and got the actual issue correct, the #LiberalDemocrats (as mentioned in an earlier post) erroneously referred to a "two-child benefit cap" that does not exist.
But they also laid out clearly that their Opposition platform begins with demanding more LCP Government action on GP access, social care, food strategy, rural support, sewage, school meals, and proportional representation.
The CUP abstained on every Opposition amendment except its own, and in turn got no support on its amendment except from RUL and 2 other unionists. In particular, the AP and the TUV abstained.
The GP laid out its anti-Tory shingle, voting for every Opposition amendment except for the CUP one.
And RUL did not support the SNP.

The opposition amendments to the Commons's response to the King's Speech make for interesting analysis.
The SNP made #UniversalCredit their single issue and got wide cross-party support from the GP, PC, the LDs, the AP, and 3 unionist parties. But none from the CUP or RUL.
The LDs's included a lot of things in theirs (more on which in a moment) but the aforesaid 3 unionists voted against and RUL voted *for* this one.
