Okay all. I’m looking for my next read. I just finished a re-read of Donna Tartt’s “The Secret History”. Before that, re-read Gibson’s Sprawl trilogy. Did some rereading after disappointments. Lastly, The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd. Awful.

Ever since I can remember, I've named various computing devices of mine by book characters I'm reading about at the time. I needed an old USB drive and picked one from a pile. The name is Kvothe and I was immediately struck with deep sadness. Anyone familiar with the story and character?

Oh Rothfuss, it's been **many** years since I've used this thumb drive and we still haven't seen book three. 😭

Sigh. . . As much as I'd like to be excited about the new Patrick Rothfuss novella, I'm just not sure I care anymore.

We waited so long for a new book and it's still not the book we have been waiting for. There's still no news about that book. This is an expansion of an 2014 short story.

Now I'll grant you, Rothfuss is a good writer. His stories are worth reading and I imagine if I read this I'll like it. I may do that. I have until November 14th to make up my mind about whether or not I want this book.

I know this may sound like petty grousing. I imagine we fans are expected to be grateful for whatever we get.
I just need to be angry for a little bit. I was patient for a long time. I listened and not just for the news I wanted to hear. At some point the man made a promise by starting a series. I'm not sure I trust him to keep it anymore. #TheDoorsOfStone #newbook #kingkillerchronicles #patrickrothfuss
