Encontré una referencia al productor Run Run Shaw en Los Versos Satánicos y de inmediato recordé que MUBI tiene disponible una selección de películas producidas por él y sus tres hermanos, de las cuales Come Drink With Me (King Hu, 1966) ya se encontraba en mi lista de películas por ver. La historia va directo al grano desde el inicio (al punto en que me pregunté como iban a llenar el resto del metraje), luego da un giro hacia otra dirección hasta que ambas tramas se encuentran. Se nota claramente lo que el Spaghetti Western comparte con el género Wuxia (al que pertenece esta película) en ese ritmo de las escenas, los silencios, la cadencia en los movimientos de los personajes e incluso en los arquetipos presentados, ¿un género tuvo influencia sobre el otro? ¿nacieron como consecuencia de las mismas bases? Por ahora no lo sé, así que leeré más al respecto mientras sigo viendo otras películas producidas por los hermanos Shaw.
