The timing of the #Texas AG Ken Paxton filing against #Denton, #Killeen, #Austin, #SanMarcos, and #Elgin and their citizen-driven propositions to decriminalize possession of small amounts of #marijuana seems off.

Texas residents don't have the right to statewide petitions. Momentum at the city level is the only way citizens can exercise this fundamental right to participate in this facet of the political process.

Denton's proposition was passed nearly 18 months ago. We've had a session of the #txlege since then. Federal officials at HHS say marijuana restrictions need to be relaxed, rescheduling it to a lower level.

I have so many questions.

Disappointing news from #BellCountyTexas as they are planning to sue the city of #Killeen over the #marijuana decriminalization ordinance.
