I'm shocked that the most famous german nutrition doc doesn't even cover the very basics of ketogenic nutrition. In fact, my expectation would be a lot higher: I figured that he'd give patients information that there are dietary options alongside medication for mental health conditions. "Controversial" doesn't mean "refuted"

Scientists have discovered that the human body undergoes a dramatic internal transformation during extended fasting, with major changes appearing only after about three days without food. In a seven-day water-only fasting study, researchers tracked thousands of proteins in the blood and found widespread shifts affecting organs throughout the body — including the brain. While the body quickly switches from burning glucose to fat, the most intriguing biological changes linked to potential health benefits didn’t emerge until later in the fast.
After ~4.5 months of “egg fried rice without the rice” for breakfast, today I made “kedgeree without the rice” for breakfast, with a load of kale for bulk, and it was delicious!
Onion, mushrooms, kale, garam masala, turmeric, curry powder and smoked mackerel, plus three boiled eggs. Slightly spicy, super fragrant, filling, and with 75 g of protein. A bit more effort but well worth it.

Ganz im Gegenteil: Es ist der Grundzustand des Körpers, lediglich nachhaltig verhindert durch ständige Zufuhr von Zucker (Glukose) aus Kohlenhydraten aller Art.
