Oui il est en train de participer à la condamnation prochaine #kessler de toute une orbite terrestre,
alors nul doute qu'il n'a que faire des débris qui tombe sur la planète ...

Quote 0:
Currently, there are over 27,000 tracked pieces of debris, each larger than 10 cm, and millions of smaller, untraceable fragments orbiting Earth. Even a tiny fragment, moving at speeds of up to 28,000 kilometers per hour, can cause catastrophic damage.

Quote I:
Sudden Alarm?

In recent years, space activity has surged dramatically. Companies like SpaceX are launching thousands of satellites for mega-constellations aimed at providing global internet access. While these projects are revolutionary, they also contribute significantly to space congestion. According to Dr. Vishnu Reddy, a planetary scientist at the University of Arizona, “The number of objects in space launched in the last four years has increased exponentially.”

In 2009, a wake-up call came in the form of a collision between the defunct Kosmos-2251 satellite and the operational Iridium-33 communications satellite. The impact created thousands of debris pieces, many of which are still orbiting Earth today.

Similar incidents could set off the cascade envisioned by Kessler, leading to a debris belt so dense that space exploration would become nearly impossible.

Urgent Warning: Kessler Syndrome Could Collapse Modern Technology

@JohnJBurnsIII It is not as dire as you might think. Here is a good recent description of the science of #Kessler’s predictions about orbital collisions and how both the situation and analyses have changed since he proposed it in the ‘70s. There is no scientific consensus yet on what it all actually means or when it may start.

— the debris density is not now nor will be equal across orbits and altitudes
— that means that while the danger of collision will be higher, the variations in density are predictable
— the effect is arguably linear in some regions, possibly exponential in others
— it will play out over 10s to 100s of years
— that means low earth orbit can be navigated in such circumstances for a long time to come, but choice of trajectories and certain orbits will become more constrained

Collision is seen at around 0:10 of the video but if you keep watching it starts a pulsing of light. I'd guess it was hard enough to start the day spinning

Russian 'inspector' satellite appears to break apart in orbit, raising debris concerns

Ground-based observations suggest the former geostationary inspector satellite suffered a fragmentation event months after retirement, raising new concerns about debris in high Earth orbit.

Orbital House of Cards – CRASH Clock Metric

Researchers have updated the possibility that satellites in low earth orbit (LEO) could collapse after accidental collisions quickly cascade into a vicious cycle where initial collisions create a huge vortex of dangerous space debris, which creates even more collisions, and then even more collisions – just like a massive vehicle pileup on an ice covered interstate highway…this cascading collision scenario is known as the Kessler syndrome.

The researchers propose a new metric, the CRASH Clock, that measures the timescale for a possible Kessler like scenario to occur after a severe loss of space situational awareness. They propose the CRASH Clock is currently 5.5 days, which is the window of opportunity to recover/stop a wide spread cascading collision event. https://futurism.com/space/earths-lower-orbit-rapidly-collapse
