Dexter Gordon - Dexter Calling

You know, I've decided I'm in agreement with Jerome Sabbagh—hard panning is the way to go for jazz combos.

This recent Tone Poet rerelease is from a 1961 session with Gordon (tenor), Kenny Drew (piano), Paul Chambers (bass), and Philly Joe Jones (drums)...a definitely "you are there" recording, save for the traditional Van Gelder "piano under a blanket".

Kenny Drew and His Progressive Piano (also released as The Modernity of Kenny Drew) is a 12" LP record album by American jazz pianist Kenny Drew. It contains sessions recorded in 1953 and 1954 (some of which were originally released as a 10" LP The Ideation of Kenny Drew) and was released on the Norgran label.

The AllMusic review states: "[T]his disc is well worth acquiring for bop fans." The Billboard reviewer wrote that Drew "shows off some bright, modern stylings on a group of standards that should please cool collectors." - Wikipedia

Jackie McLean - Bluesnik

Great 1961 session with McLean (sax), Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), Kenny Drew (piano), Doug Watkins (bass), and Pete La Roca (drums).

While not every track is straight blues, it's definitely a blues-focused session, and really fun and enjoyable. Sounds great, too - although with Jackie hard right and Freddie hard left (and Drew center), the mix feels a little weird when Freddie's not playing.
