Have you tried creating variety of paintings by size?

As an artist I like to work with average to big sized canvas, but my friend a while ago gifted me this tiny - 6x8cm - canvas. It even snuggly fits into my palm!
It was a real challange to paint it (tried 3 different compositions), but now it is a nice keepsake.

Back in 2022, I backed Koriko: A Magical Year, a solo role-playing journalling game by Jack Harrison (Mousehole Press). It arrived in the mail today, so I immediately put aside all the actually important tasks I had to do to sit down and play the first chapter.

My dad was on an oceanographic cruise when he wrote a message for me on a Styrofoam cup and sent it to the bottom of the ocean with his scientific instruments. The increased pressure caused it to shrink, leaving the message reduced but intact - both a love note and a science lesson for me, his 3 year old daughter.

#KeepsakeStories Week 5: Tiny trinket, gigantic memory

Black pearl engagement ring from my first marriage. It has a silver band with an enormous black pearl that looks like it's about to burst from its pronged restraints. It seems otherworldly, considering the reception it received while wearing it. Taking it off was one of the worst bits of the divorce. I could get the pearl remounted into a necklace. But it's always tainted by him. I cannot carry him around anymore.

Since you all are talking about beach finds...

I was going through a really hard thing in my life. I'd somehow gotten the time to go to the beach by myself and have a walk and a think and a bit of a cry.

I spotted this round, flat rock with a line of quartz going all the way around the edges.

It reminded me of this song I had recently discovered called "My Silver Lining."

“Within Reach”

4" tall hand carved and painted redwood tree. Found in a gas station in NoCal. Simple, modest, crude design. Something that could easily have been carved thousands of years before. It had no price tag and there were no others. I don't remember what we paid. I keep it on my desk. I run my fingers over the distorted branches and primitive design. Its 4" feels like a full-sized redwood to me.
