If You Give Up, You Have Failed
That Sounds Harsh. It’s Also True.
If you give up, you have failed. That sounds terrible because sometimes we all feel like giving up. But when you give up, that’s when you let yourself down. Not the people watching. Not the ones who doubted you. Yourself. That’s the only one who matters in this equation. You may wonder what people/individuals around you think, or will think.
No one cares what you do!
You can cry, act like a clown, yell and scream or make a fool out of yourself one min and the crowd around you may look, laugh and move on. That’s what will happen. So know that no one cares. The same thing happens when you fail or succeed!
People Come, and People Go
People come, and people go. People cause heartache, tears, and pain. But that’s life. We cannot change the actions of others. We cannot change what happened in the past. What someone did to you, what someone said, what fell apart because of someone else’s choices, none of that is yours to carry forever. The only thing that belongs to you is what you do next.
You owe nothing to others, absolutely nothing. When you have issues, problems or concerns, they are yours to own. You owe yourself the effort of moving forward. This is a shit situation when all seems lost. Everything you dreamt of, everything you planned, crumbled overnight. But that’s what happens, shit happens.
Sometimes Life Completely Sucks
Sometimes life completely sucks. You make plans, you dream of amazing things, you set goals, and then sometimes all of that comes crashing down on you. Not because you didn’t do your best. Not because you didn’t try. But because of circumstances outside your control. It happens to all of us.
You make fantastic plans, and they fall through. You charge yourself up and make more plans. You give it everything you’ve got, and it fails again. But at the end of the day, it is still not too late to pick up the pieces and try again. Sure, you have been defeated. You have been brought down. Your plans, your dreams, your immediate future fell to pieces. You feel crushed. You feel like you are hitting rock bottom.
But rock bottom is a long way away. There are just too many things to do, too many things to say, too many things to accomplish to give up on everything. You never stop trying.
No Matter What Life Throws at You
No matter what life throws at you, no matter how difficult it gets, you can keep going; you should. Occasionally, you may need to reach out for external support because you may not be able to do it on your own. And that is okay. There is nothing wrong with that. Asking for help is not giving up. It is the opposite. It is the decision to keep going by whatever means necessary. Baby steps to crawl out of the deepest hole you are in. Small wins, and with the wins, you need to give credit to yourself for the small wins.
But If You Give Up, You Have Failed
That is the bottom line. Not a judgment. Not a lecture. Just the truth. Failure is not about falling. It’s about getting back up! Failure is not always about struggling. Failure is not having a terrible year or a terrible run of years. Failure is the moment you decide you are done and walk away for good. Everything before that point is just the story of someone still in the fight. You may feel like a failure, or take it as a moment of reflection for the next plan, the next goal. You may have made mistakes, you msy feel you have failed but do not give up!
Stay in the fight.
