I’m so grateful to have been able to debut the V1 of my “Princess” Nausicaä cosplay from “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” by Hayao Miyazaki. While this outfit was only featured in the film for two scenes, I’ve had it in my mind since I first saw the film a decade ago. This costume was exclusively handsewn by me and patterned by me, involving spherical and conical geometry for the hat and hours of work wrangling wool, linen, and buckram. Next year, I hope to have it fully finished according to the techniques and materials stated and shown in manga and film! 🩵🌱
