A June 13, 1970 newspaper article about the discovery of a skeleton in the front yard of 411 Elizabeth Street in Mishicot, Wisconsin. A handwritten caption at the top of the article explains the aftermath: “This turned out to be the skeleton Dr. Skwor used in his office. After his death his wife buried it in an old flower bed.”

Article text:

SKELETON FOUND – The skeleton of what was apparently an adult human being, was found recently in this flower bed at the Lloyd Brouchoud residence, Mishicot. The dwelling is the former residence and office of two physicians, now deceased. It has been occupied by the Brouchoud family the past 11 months. The discovery was made by Pat Brouchoud, 10, when he began working over the ground of the flower bed. Manitowoc County Sheriff Donald Hillstrom went to the scene Friday morning and unearthed the rest of the skeleton after the skull, vertebrae and leg bones were found. Another leg bone can be seen on the grass to the right of Hillstrom’s right foot. He planned to discuss, the find with the widow of one of the physicians Saturday. Peering over Hillstrom’s shoulder is one of his deputies, John Kakes, of Mishicot. (Herald-Times photo)
