I'd love to see someone port #MangoWM and #Kanshi to #OpenBSD . Well a girl can dream can't she ? 🤔

Have been giving #niriwm, #waybar and #kanshi a try on my private laptop. Really pleasant experience. Only serious SNAFU was having to redefine all key-bind to work with on a #Danish keyboard.

Automatically handling displays with Kanshi saves me having to disable the laptop screen when sitting at my desk. Will have to try if it also works with #Gnome

#kanshi is such a great tool, when it comes to custom profiles for external displays. I tweaked my config a bit and am extremely happy how great the docking and undocking flow is working now.

- Plug Thunderbolt cable into notebook -> Kanshi automatically detects the setup and aligns the displays.
- Close the lid/open the lid -> Hyprland triggers a kanshi profile switch and workspaces move to the correct display

This was always a hassle before and now it 'just works' 🎉

@emersion

In praise of #kanshi on #sway: I have a multiple monitor setup on #Fedora #Fedora40. Running under X11 I've had many problems with getting all the monitors configured. Using #kanshi, I'm able to just log in to the #sway desktop and #kanshi just takes care of the monitor configuration. Very nice!
@dulvui I use #kanshi and love it. But when the kernel is misbehaving I guess an event is missed and I'm stuck with a black screen and need to go to a VT. #Gnome must have a failsafe and still work in this case. I need to debug this, but it's almost always when you start a meeting and need to show something in a hurry 😁
