Exactly. But it's also true you don't have to use all the cybersecurity stuff even if you choose it. Iirc, they have a "lite" version.

But if you want a rock solid Debian with the ability to use several solid DM Kali is as good a place to start as any, especially if you hope to eventually learn the tools. (As long as you know enough to create an unprivileged user, otherwise I'd say don't start with Kali).

It's for a similar reason I use #Kaisen. It has a ton of sysadmin tools built in. I don't understand a tenth of them, yet. But that's the area I want to get better at.
