I also spent some time on Sunday looking for my JX3P, only to realize it is in storage. I do have a JX-03 however and that is practically the same thing for this purpose. It is a DCO based synth anyway.

The JX-3P is fully working again! Cleaning the rubber pads did the trick. I also replaced the electrolytic capacitors in the PSU while on it. It sounds really great with the two DCOs per voice which can be detuned. The programmer is really making a difference #roland #jx3p #repair #retro #synth

Next distraction already got in: a #Roland #JX3P from 1983. It has a few non working keys but I guess this is just a matter of proper cleaning. Maybe I redo the PSU. Also thinking of getting a programmer clone which makes this synth much more versatile. #synthesizer #repair #analog

As I finalize and test my updated studio, I'm running simple tests to explore routing and sonic options.

For some reason I was just suddenly reminiscing about the first #synthesizer I ever got to play with in person. Scott Eddy, a friend of my uncle's (and mine as well but I was a lot younger than them, early to mid teens, I think) left his #Roland #JX3P along with the external #PG200 programmer at our house for us to play with for a bit. I was in awe. Like having some sci-fi gadget from NASA at my hands.
