https://youtube.com/watch?v=UQgymlFhmfc — Gojo's past life was very..... 💔❤️🩹😭[AMV/Edit]#gojo #jujutsukaisen #mydressupdarling #anime (0:25)

I am sooo happy with how Jujutsu Kaisen ended?!
And I'm so surprised of that fact because there was so much hate around it? So either I'm happy because I expected so much worse, or I've read such rushed endings (Tokyo Revengers hello) that I'm super relieved the ending lasted 4 whole chapters?... or people are just wrong 💅
Because looking at the comments, people are mostly raging that their darling Gojo (and Nanami, and so on) didn't get miraculously resurrected... "Gege [the author] clearly only killed Gojo because they hate him" and so on.
And like. I'm sorry. I know media literacy is at an all time low... but there are valid and good reasons for killing characters! And Gojo definitely died for many, very good reasons! And I loved him and I was very sad that he died, but also it made complete sense!
It's maybe because people are so used to US stories where the hero always triumphs, and nobody really dies or something? I'm just confused how you can judge a whole story by "my favorite died 5 volumes ago and wasn't resurrected, so this whole thing sucks".
There may be more valid criticism than this, but at least not in this comment section.
Personally I felt like - on top of everything good I've said about chapters 265-268 - the author did a good job at tying many loose ends, gave us some well deserved emotional reward with the classic trio having some good times, showed us where all the side characters were going, and showed us where the main characters will go from there in a realistic and concrete way (literally the name of the chapter, "From Now On") and even that they hold up Gojo's legacy high and everything. Like idk... but what more do you want 😭
I've heard a lot of people hate JJK's ending so I'll have to see if the last 3 chapters somehow ruin it, but this chapter was absolutely everything to me 🔥
First let's wind back to chapter 265 "That Day" and Itadori opening his domain for the first time.
Him and Sukuna spend a peaceful day walking around, catching crayfishes and doing archery while exchanging easy banter.
Itadori's purpose is clear: having one last try at rehabilitating Sukuna, see if he's in any way redeemable.
It's really a testament to Itadori's character that after everything Sukuna put him through, he still hopes that there's good in him and tries his best to save him.
(also this chapter really read like a fanfiction but that's beyond the point)
Of course Sukuna doesn't want Itadori's pity, and goes on to think he can still win the fight.
Now back to chapter 268 "Settling Matters".
It starts with Fushiguro finally being expulsed from Sukuna, and Sukuna about to die as cursed goo on the floor...
Instead of landing a pointless final blow or giving us a cool victorious one liner, Itadori... scoops Sukuna in his hands (sobs).
Even though he won and doesn't have to do any of this, he reminds Sukuna of his earlier promise to take him back inside him if he frees Fushiguro. Even though Sukuna never released Fushiguro willingly, Itadori still wants to save him.
He says they're the same and just had slightly difference circumstances, then explains why he wants to take Sukuna in once more: "Not to curse someone, but to live with someone. Sukuna... let's do it again. Even if no one else accepts it, I'm willing to go on living with you." (sobs for the next three hours) (while intensely writing fanfictions about this)
Let's remind each other here that Sukuna was the bane of Itadori's life - that he possessed his body to kill countless innocents during the Shibuya act, and of course killed most of his friends and mentors like... this morning 😅
So for Itadori to talk to him like this... just for the small chance at redeeming him.... because his compassion is apparently endless and just like he's never wanted to kill humans from the beginning, he also doesn't want to kill curses anymore if he can help it.... ah, my heart!
Of course, once again Sukuna is so afraid of help and pity that he prefers to let himself die, his last sentence being "I am a curse!!"...... baby no. But of course. But also... please.
And after all this emotional rollercoaster and the defeat of enemy #1 since the first chapter of this series.... Fushiguro wakes up! He reunites with Itadori and Kugisaki! They're back to their usual shenanigans! They get absurd letters from Gojo! Fushiguro *laughs*! (sobs harder but this time from joy)
JJK really put us through the wringer with the non stop devastating fights in the last 10 or so volume, but this chapter made it all worth it 😭
