Taken at the quarry yesterday. Quite happy with how some of them turned out. I really enjoy some of the textures present in the industrial environment when taken in black and white even with simple things like railings and gravel.

Early morning shots from the other day. Saw a light frost on some Purple Dead Nettle (Lamium Purpureum) and Shepherd's Purse/Lady's Purse (Capsella Bursa-Pastoris). Took a couple shots of the grass too. The mirror lens bokeh works really well with that sort of subject. I'll include a couple colour photos at the end for fun.

Some rain photos I took at work on the pavement yesterday. Feel free to scroll thru and let me know your favourite. It was sunny when I left for work so I chose my lens accordingly. Started pouring half way into the day. The lens I chose was a Rokinon 300mm F6.3 Reflex/Mirror lens. Hard to get a sharp focus but it still has neat characteristics. SUPER shallow depth of field. Ended up being the perfect lens for the day afterall.

Paying tribute to the beauty of the Apple Xserve. We have a rack in our datacentre I usually think of as our legacy rack. There are six still present, though they are all powered down. Two or three had their backplanes swapped from raid to passthru so they could run ESXi. I have another 3 at home but similarly they are all powered down. They eat a lot of power and make a lot of noise but I remember them purring away in the old MDF running ALL THE SERVICES back when I was in highschool as a tech TA.

Late night drive with the family to Dick's Drive-In for burgers, fries and milkshakes followed by a trip further south to Krispy Kreme for donuts. My lovely wife was at the wheel so I got to take photos thru the rain covered windows. Photos were taken with my Olympus E-M1 Mark II paired with a vintage Canon FD 50mm F1.4 S.S.C. film camera lens. It is my favourite lens. Most photos were taken at F2 to keep things adequately sharp while still allowing for enough light to reach the sensor. Shutter speed mostly hovered between 1/80th and 1/400th of a second with auto ISO. Krispy Kreme Drive-Thru was ISO 6400 for reference. For the colour photos I leveraged the color creator feature to either give some warmth or a cool liminal vibe but tried to keep it reasonable. Tried to emulate something like Cinestill 800T. All photos are straight out of camera jpegs with a white border added in Lightroom Mobile. Hope you all like them.
