The status of this miniature is dubious. In 1977 Richard Allen considered it to be a fake of about 1880, after Augustin Ritt (1765–1799). However, it seems to be a work of about 1790, and a label inside the box into which the miniature is set naming Boze might be a clue for a correct attribution
