🦆I've ended up on Obsidian primarily due to the way it suits me as a markdown editor, but i will still recommend #Joplin all day long. I used it for several years and really did love it.

Compared to the Joplin Terminal App (which is a full blown Joplin with a TUI) I’ve created it as a thin wrapper using the Wen Clipper API.
I use it for
- search/get/update all you Notes and Notebooks from your favorite terminal.
- connect to LLMs (as a much leaner alternative to all MCP Servers I’ve found so far)
It’s still rough around the edges but very easy to set up if you want to take a look! 👀

Ich sammle seit über 15 Jahren Notizen, Erinnerungen an Urlaube und Belege in digitaler Form. Lange Zeit habe ich dafür Evernote genutzt. Nachdem die App eine Zeit lang „kaputt entwickelt“ wurde, bin ich ausgestiegen. Da Apple Notizen gerade eine Importfunktion für Evernote-Dateien anbot, bin ich dorthin umgestiegen. Does anyone have experience with using Joplin with local file system synchronisation and then synchronising that folder via Resilio Sync to another device? I just tested it between my phone and computer, and it seems to work ok. But what would happen if I shared that folder with my partner as well, so we could share notes and lists? There would be a risk of us changing something at the same time.

I switched to Jopin for my cross platform note taker a while ago. One thing I discovered today is that I can use check boxes in it. I add a checkbox to the markup either by clicking on the checkbox button or typing "- [ ]" in the markup. I can then check the box by clicking on it in the rendered page. This will be great for keeping track of to do lists!
BTW, I found this by asking Perplexity.
