Warning: this is a lengthy post. I can be quiet and reserved until you ask me to talk about something that I’m passionate about, then I can talk (write) for days. @Muppensish sorry i have cognitive difficulties and got confused. it's NOT an xperia it's a #jollaC2 phone, an open source phone from a small company in finland. they use #sailfish only in their phones.

Trying to use my #JollaC2 more. Not quite a daily driver, but using it when I want to disconnect (as it disconnects from wifi often 😆). The lag makes me doom scroll less. It's still clunky, but ebooks are fine on the big screen. Just downloaded #Kalevala! Well made #SailfishOS apps are a joy to use.

This is going to mean:
- No banking apps (but websites are ok of course)
- No navigation with live traffic updates (I'll be late for things, but I don't want to install Google-owned Waze on it)
- No WhatsApp (You can't have it on multiple devices
- While I do have Facebook messenger installed, no other notifications from Facebook as it's only available in the browser
- No NFC payments ...
- Ropey GPS
(I don't use tiktok so despite the previous post that isn't a concern)

@jgibbon old or otherwise, I agree with your nitpicking list! :D

The original JP01 was just a joy to hold, with the two-halves design, great size (slightly bigger is ok, like the first community phone #JollaC, but not huge like C2), and laggy or not you just want to keep the phone in your hand. Not so with the #JollaC2 for reasons you stated.

#SailfishOS update on my #JollaC2. I wish I could enjoy Sailfish more on this device like I did with previous devices but the C2 is just slow and laggy enough to put me off. Or maybe I'm getting old and cranky. Anyway, #nextgenjollaphone sounds promising! Looking forward to the progress.

@privacyguides I think #LinuxMobile is the only real path forward for freedom.

Instead of hoping in #Google, it would be better in the long run if concerned users rallied behind #Linux options (mainline or #Halium-based), and there are quite a few now, existing and upcoming.
