Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Sex & Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll
Ian Dury is probably the unlikeliest rock star the UK ever had. After he had Polio at the age of seven he was seriously disabled, had a rough childhood but found art and had some success in music later. Ian Dury and the Blockheads quickly gained a reputation as one of the top live acts of new wave music.
Punks respected him and there was some influence. Dury was pretty upset Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols copied his style to perform on stage. Because of Dury's disabilities he had to hold on to the microphone stand and did the now iconic movements. It was like Johnny Rotten was mocking him.
