Remembering Jeff Healey!
“So tonight I'll ask the stars above
"How did I ever win your love?””
In my continuing quest to find interesting stories and combine them with outstanding songs or cover versions, I learned about this fact. It was on this day in 1966 that Jeff Healey; who was adopted…
Walk On
It's my favorite John Hiatt album and it contains my fav John Hiatt song. "Walk On" is released on October 24, 1995. The lead single, "Cry Love," received Grammy nominations for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Song in 1997. John Hiatt, Bring the Family, 1987 on A&M
John Hiatt’s eighth studio album and his first on A&M. What a fantastic songwriter! Actually paid for by Demon Records in the UK, but picked up after being completed by A&M in the US.
Guests include Ry Cooder (doing harmony vocals on “Have a Little Faith in Me” as well as electric guitar and sitar work), Nick Lowe on bass, and Jim Keltner on drums, making this something of a proto-Little Village album. Also includes “Thing Called Love” that was later a hit for Bonnie Raitt.
My copy—via Waterloo Records in Austin TX—is a Columbia House club pressing (Carrollton) with CRC on the bottom of the rear cover.

Slow Turning
The 9th album from John Hiatt -- released on August 30, 1988. It is one of his most critically acclaimed and successful albums and is considered an Americana classic. John gets help from The Goners ... his frequent back-up band that includes guitarist Sonny Landreth, who helped craft the album's signature sound. Slow Turning ... it's like fine wine.
