I was asked my the Communications team at work to participate in African World Heritage Day on Tuesday. I'll share my post here on the day but thought some of the photos I sent were actually quite lovely.
This one is of Johannesburg in spring when the jacaranda is blooming. If I recall correctly, I took it through my rose-tinted sunglasses.

The mayoral candidate with the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Johannesburg, Helen Zille, decided to raise a city issue in an ironic way. She posted on her social media channels a video of herself swimming in a deep hole filled with water in Douglasdale, complete with a swim cap, goggles, and snorkel and scuba mask.
Under the video, which went viral in a short time, the caption read: “This is one of the many public pools in Johannesburg. There are no opening hours or a maintenance plan, and yet somehow it continues to expand.”
