Yes, Coetzee's essays on the debate are now 30 years past (How???), but he has never failed to offer fresh and thoughtful approaches to social problems, even when I disagree where he lands. Worth the time, I suspect!

Coetzee is a helluva fiction writer, but here is a collection of his more academic work, critical essays on writers like Rilke, Kafka, Borges, Rushdie, Mahfouz, and other heavy hitters of literature. Since he is one of only a few writers who I am a completist for, I expect this will be an amazing exploration!
