La Digos ha dato seguito a un decreto di perquisizione personale, locale e informatica dell'indagato. Nei filmati acquisiti, l'indagato pronunciava in dialetto africano frasi dal chiaro tenore intimidatorio, manifestando la volontà di uccidere un altro utente dello stesso social network e istigando così i suoi follower. A destare particolare attenzione, anche i riferimenti a tematiche religiose fondamentaliste, accompagnate da espressioni riconducibili alla retorica jihadista.

In uno dei video, l'indagato prometteva addirittura "il paradiso con le 72 vergini" come ricompensa per chi si fosse reso responsabile dell'uccisione di un utente critico nei confronti dei matrimoni precoci. L'attività investigativa è partita dalla segnalazione di un utente di TikTok che aveva denunciato la presenza di video dal contenuto fortemente allarmante. Dai primi accertamenti è stato possibile identificare l'utilizzatore del profilo segnalato, molto attivo sulla piattaforma e seguito da oltre 100.000 followers. Le indagini proseguono per approfondire la rete relazionale dell'uomo e verificare eventuali ulteriori profili di responsabilità.
