I wrote a WordPress plugin called Choon Player which you can use to slow down music such as an MP3 file for learning by ear. There are other options in the toolkit for dealing with ABC music notation.

There are some notes and examples for using the toolkit in the Choon Player Overview pages on this site.

The toolkit is based on the ideas and code used in the New Zealand Irish Sessions website. It allows WordPress sites to incorporate recorded tunes and sheet music on pages and posts in a straightforward manner.
