The word of YHWH through #Jeremiah seemed rather #treasonous

He encouraged and exhorted the Judahites to submit to the yoke of #Nebuchadnezzar king of #Babylon and preached how YHWH had given Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty over all the lands.

#Hananiah promised the people YHWH would break the yoke of the king of #Babylon and restore the exiled Judahites to the land within two years. 

We can understand why the people would rather have listened to and believed Hananiah over #Jeremiah.  But it would not be the case.
