#JaPow is a real thing among skiers, and my guesthouse was filled with skiers from around the world! When I initially planned my trip, I had no thought of skiing, but curiosity led me to investigate, since I had 2 weeks planned in the country. When I realized how affordable and accessible it would be, I was thrilled. Everything about Japan was amazing, but the skiing will really stand out in my memory. I've now retired all of my winter sports equipment except for snowshoes. I can't afford a major fracture at my age. At that point, I'd still been skiing most years.
