Having moved to London, in mid 1984 Rose & Jill had recruited guitarist Simon Emmerson (aka Simon Booth), bassist John Cook & drummer Roy Dodds.

They did a bunch of gigs, recorded two tracks in an abortive start to the album, & did this Janice Long session too.

All the songs from the January 1985 session went on to be recorded by Rose & Jill for the album with producer David Motion later in the year, but those synthpop textures are very different arrangements from these performed by a working indie guitar band.
