This article is depressing. AND when I reopened it to share it here I got a Whats App ad. I have been reading these JAMA emails for YEARS and this is the 1st time I have seen an ad and it’s disgusting that it’s for a meta product.

What confuses me the most about HRT for menopause is the assertion that adding estrogen back is DANGEROUS, yet I spent 19 years fighting to get sterilized even though pregnancy would have increased my estrogen levels to approximately 100x the levels of a non pregnant person by week 32.
So according to every OBGYN I have seen in my whole life MHT= scary dangerous blood clots!! but 100x that amount of estrogen from pregnancy = no big deal because it’s my duty to stroke out so we have more kids for the wealthy and religious to molest.
I should stop reading things like this because they just piss me off. And I guess I am still traumatized from misogynistic medical neglect.

I don’t actually believe this because I have been experiencing adderall shortages regularly since 2011, but I guess it’s nice to see they aren’t trying to blame it on “overprescribing” when people who didn’t have access to mental healthcare got access because of telemedicine.

Although the researchers noted that public debate about the ADHD drug shortage had largely centered around prescribing trends and Drug Enforcement Administration quotas, their findings suggest that supply chain disruption may have been a major contributor. They added that this highlights “the vulnerability of US pharmaceutical manufacturing to international supply chain disruptions” and underscores “the need for policies that strengthen supply chain resilience.”
