Nun lese ich endlich die "Dämonenprinzen" von Jack Vance, beginnend mit dem "Star King" oder, wie Heyne es seinerzeit eindeutschte, dem "Jäger im Weltall". Der kurze Roman lohnt sich sehr. In der typisch ironischen Sprache Vances wird ein buntes Space-Abenteuer mit Elementen von Western und Krimi erzählt. Der Kern ist komplexer: Moderne Gesellschaften mit vielfältigen Systemen, Hierarchien und Rollenmustern. Auf deutsch 160 Seiten. Glaube, die anderen Bände gönne ich mir auch. #sf #jackvance

The Lyoness Trilogy by Jack Vance, a convoluted story about war, politics, and world domination.

Fey time shifting is integral to the plot and it has some of the best fey fiction I've ever read, and I read a lot of fey fiction.

Jack Vance came in on the end of the golden age with novels like The Last Castle, To Live Forever, and The Dying Earth (featuring Cugel the Clever). He continued writing until he died in 2013.
