Ich stelle mir mein Leben als Mensch mit Behinderungen auch schöner vor, als immer vor Gericht für meine Rechte kämpfen zu müssen, ohne zu wissen, ob ich schlussendlich Erfolg habe.

Dass ich damit meine Zeit auf Erden verschwende, kommt den Behindertenfeinden in der Schweiz wahrscheinlich sehr gelegen.

Das ist kein Bug, sondern ein Feature dieses hochgradig ableistischen Systems, das Menschen verschleisst statt sie unterstützt.

Jetzt, wo ich auch mit der Einsprache gegen den Entscheid der Sozialversicherungsanstalt St. Gallen, mir die Ergänzungsleistungen (inkl. der Krankenkassenprämienverbilligung) rückwirkend einzustellen, fertig bin – und dies nach meiner Beschwerde gegen die IV wegen Nichtgewährung einer Waage am Deckenlift vor dem Versicherungsgericht plus eines Gesuchs um «unentgeltliche Rechtspflege» –, weiss ich gar nicht mehr, was ich mit meiner Zeit überhaupt noch anfangen soll.

Cepeda, de 63 años, ha insistido en que su condición es de remisión y que no es una enfermedad fatal gracias a los avances médicos, pero el rol del vicepresidente como posible reemplazo en caso de incapacidad ha avivado el debate público. En entrevista radial en Blu Radio, el periodista Néstor Morales señaló que el tema merecía un debate serio, a lo que Cepeda respondió con un comunicado defendiendo el manejo responsable de la información de salud. Hi, a quick note before Drew’s brother and I go into the hospital to see him. Had to approve and have a witness on the phone to install a PICC line. It’s to get him an IV to carry nutrition to him since they again had too much trouble getting an IV going again. It’s Day 12 in hospital. Way beyond his experiences before. And the bowel obstructions are still there.

I just hyperventilate a little because it’s more invasive, can be yet another site for infection and it can cause a blood clot. The alternative is worse though, so I guess my assent is another “Damn, do it” approval. Anyone who’s been through this themselves or are familiar with this please feel free to comment. #ICU #PICCline #IV #Nutrition

Jackknife Instrumental Variable Inference

This paper introduces a class of jackknife-based test statistics for linear regression models with endogeneity and heteroskedasticity in the presence of many potentially weak instrumental variables. The tests may be used when considering hypotheses on the full parameter vector or hypotheses defined as linear restrictions. We show that in the limit and under the null the proposed statistics are distributed as a combination of chi squares but by modifying the objective function we derive more familiar chi square limits. An extensive simulation study shows the competitive finite sample properties of the proposed tests in particular against Anderson-Rubin-type of statistics. Finally, we provide an empirical illustration that applies the proposed tests to study the effect of alcohol consumption on body mass index using genetic variants as instrumental variables using the UK Biobank.
