It is really when you do IT support for 'normal' people that you see how utterly broken it all is.
Computing is my job and hobby, I spend a lot of time fixing my own stuff and curating my systems to work just to a basic level.
Then you see someone else's device and experience, just trying day-to-day stuff.
I have complete sympathy particularly for the elderly who want to benefit, but have to wade through the quagmire of utter crap to get anything done.
I make a point of telling them "No, it's not you, this is all shit, and I apologise on behalf of the industry I am part of"
