Nicht ohne Grund wird Armadillidium pulchellum auch "Schöne Kugelassel" genannt. Bei einem Blick unter einen Stein oder ein Stück Holz kann man dieses hübsche Tierchen mit seinem bunten Muster finden. Mit A. pictum gibt es allerdings eine sehr ähnliche Art.
