One thing that is always annoying is how the unix datum, 1970-01-01 00:00:00 GMT was in fact 1970-01-01 01:00:00 BST in the UK the very country that invented GMT.

ISO 8601 has three main formats:
• Calendar (standard YYYY-MM-DD)
• Week (YYYY-Www-D, like 2026-W12-4)
• Ordinal (YYYY-DDD, day of year)
