Par les mots, le son et l’image les enfants échangeront des informations par-delà les mers grâce au Leabhar nan Ceangalan (Livre des Liens), vieux manuscrit des tisserandes, qu’on croyait disparu, mais dont une page mystérieuse a été retrouvée sur Internet. Seul inconvénient : on ne peut y inscrire, ni même y prononcer, aucun nom de lieux — ni villes, ni îles, ni réserves naturels, d’aucune sorte.

There is only one rule: no place names may be spoken or written within its pages — not towns, nor islands, nor nature reserves of any kind.

Rebecca et Myriam étaient depuis toujours liées par un solide fil de laine qui traversait les mers et l’océan. C'était un lien précieux qui les reliait à la fois physiquement et mentalement.

Mais aujourd'hui — catastrophe ! Le fil s’est rompu, effaçant au passage une partie de leur mémoire et elles se sont perdues. Tout ce dont elles se souviennent, c’est que l’une vie en Écosse et l’autre en Loire-Atlantique. Elles ont désespérément besoin d’aide et se tournent vers les élèves de leur région...
