_The Evening Post_, 5 Nov 1923:
WOMEN IN PRINT.

Mrs. Blathwayt entertained a large number of guests at a pl[e]asant farewell tea at St. Hilda’s Vicarage, Island Bay, on Saturday afternoon, in honour of Mrs. and Miss Greig, who are leaving New Zealand. Mrs. Greig has been a popular member of the ladies’ committee of the church, and also of the choir. Mesdames Proctor and Green and Misses Brenda Colley gave items, and the hostess dispensed dainty afternoon tea. The vicar paid a tribute to the work of Mrs. Greig and her daughter, and wished them bon voyage to Australia, where they will in future reside. Each of the guests of honour was presented with a beautifully-bound book as a gift of remembrance.

Wellingtonians enjoyed whale watching at the weekend as a young tohorā / southern right whale came close to shore. Thanks to the kind stranger standing next to me who shared his photos! #Taputeranga #IslandBay #TeWhanganuiATara #Wellington #Aotearoa #NewZealand

Great article! I share Geordie’s vision for Island Bay - a connected, resilient community & thriving businesses enabled by greater housing density, light rail to the city, improved public spaces & protected cycleways to Berhampore, Newtown & beyond

My Wellington: Imagining a new Island Bay

Geordie Rogers imagines Island Bay moving in a new direction. The rental advocate can even see himself living there long term. If only his landlord will let him stay.
