A SCOTTISH Reform UK candidate has come under fire after she called for the deportation of Muslims in a series of social media posts.

In messages unearthed by ITV Border, Galloway and West Dumfries Holyrood candidate Senga Beresford has been found to have endorsed a post that called for the UK to “deport the lot of them”, in reference to Muslims.

Zohran #Mamdani, NYC’s first #Muslim mayor, went after Republican lawmakers who have gone on #Islamophobic rampages on social media in recent weeks.

Most of the #problems that #Iran does have in its #society are similar to the West's own problems. Remove the #islamophobic framing and it all seems much more familiar. #Misogyny, #racism, #homophobia, limited #democracy, #police power, and #RightWing #religious #fundamentalism are not exactly unknown in the #USA or its #Western #allies.

And we don't go to #war with them. Only with a non-US-aligned Muslim country. Otherwise, we recognize that #change does not mean "overthrow the #government".

The Attack on Iran Is an Attack on All of Us by @CrimethInc

The US and Israeli attack on #Iran is
morally repugnant. It is calculated only to benefit an #elite of #racist #Islamophobic #warmongers. It will not benefit Iranians or ordinary people anywhere on earth.

There are genuine grassroots movements resisting the Iranian government, which is a blood-soaked authoritarian regime—as are the US and Israeli governments that are attacking it.

Before #Iran knocked most other news off the front page, Australian political discourse was dominated last week by finger-pointing, point-scoring and posturing over the so-called #ISISbrides: 11 Australian women who travelled to Syria or Iraq over a decade ago with their husbands allegedly in order to join Islamic State/ISIS. The husbands were all killed or captured by Kurdish/FSA forces, with their wives and children also captured and detained separately. This cohort of 11 women and 23 children has been held in a detention camp for the last 6+ years. The camp has recently changed hands and is in the process of being shut down.

So these women and children are now reportedly trying to return to Australia, The federal government has largely ignored them for years, even though it has a legal obligation to accept their entry as citizens.

The #ALP government, #Coalition (putative) opposition and surging far-right #OneNation have each been engaged in an #Islamophobic race-to-the-bottom, seeking to outdo one another in denunciation & performative cruelty (including towards 23 children—whatever people may think about the terrible decision by their parent(s) a decade ago).
