A slow start to the day left me hesitant about hiking, but I remembered that I wanted to scout a route. A day started with low expectations and quite some doubt turned into unexpected joy and even the first signs of spring!

Some days, the weather doesn’t invite adventure — just cold, wind, and low clouds. Last Tuesday was one of those days, and I nearly stayed in. But I opted for a quick “training mountain” hike. The closed summit trail forced an early turnaround, yet the descending clouds turned an ordinary workout into a surprise photo session.

A familiar Mountain never gets Old

Some hikes don’t need grand destinations or dramatic views — they just need to feel right. This solo trip from May 2026 was one of those satisfying days on a mountain I’ve climbed countless times. The route makes little logical sense, the summit is often crowded, and the descent rarely cooperates with photography.
