Not only is she wise beyond her years, but she is somehow casual with her narrative ambition. The tale of Mithad in this wonderful novel, despite taking place more than a century ago, could be the tale of ANY Palestinian today fighting for dignity. And that is the sad and poignant timelessness of the tale.
