Artist and illustrator Norah McGuinness died #OTD in 1980. She represented Ireland at Venice Biennale. Exhibited in London and NY. President of Irish Exhibition of Living Art. She did set design for Yeats, Beckett plays and Brown Thomas's window for 30 years! Hon RHA. Hon D. Litt 1973. Her work is held in IMMA, Nat Gallery Ireland, The Hugh Lane and Crawford Gallery.

Artist Úna Watters died #OTD 1965. She created the Claíomh Solais (Sword of Light) image used to commemorate 50th anniversary of Easter Rising in 1966.
She studied at NCAD, exhibited at Royal Hibernian Academy and was member of Society of Dublin Painters. Her work was part of 1949 Irish Exhibition of Living Art. (Sounds familiar? We marked her birthday on 4 Nov as well!)

Artist and illustrator Estella Solomons died #OTD in 1968. From a prominent Dublin Jewish family, she studied at Dublin Metropolitan School of Art. She joined Cumann na mBan in 1918. Her studio became a safe house and she painted revolutionary friends and leaders. Co-founded The Dublin Magazine with husband Seumas O'Sullivan. They hosted regular literary salons. Elected to RHA in 1966.
