Call for Peer-Reviewed Contributions – iPRES 2026

iPRES 2026 - The 22nd International Conference on Digital Preservation in Copenhagen, Denmark

Resurfacing after months of absence, because of physical health issues leading to mental health issues, exacerbated by huge amounts of stress at work because of 10+ years #DigiPres project. Said project reached a huge milestone at the beginning of December on test environments, only to take 2 1/2 month of additional debugging when nothing worked on "exact same config" production environments... Trying to write an #iPRES2026 paper by the end of the week now to exorcise it all... Wish me luck!
Attempting to write a poster proposal for iPRES and struggling a bit with the formal nature of it! Not sure what to put on those two pages... Is it really just an abstract? Found an example from a prior year and it was more than that #iPRES2026 #iPRES
haven't done this in a while .. looking back, my #dp3 today (which i could easily extend to a #dp30 so i'm just picking the most memorable):
* heated argument with project partners about need / no need to discuss in great detail the differences between digital curation and digital preservation
* #ipres2026 Papers & Panels co-chair meeting
* summarized a short survey we ran on risk identification within the Rosetta Users' Digital Preservation Working Group

#ipres2026, which will take place in Copenhagen DK Sep 21–25 '26 has an open call for volunteers in the following committees:

• Programme (conference content, themes and reviewing)
• Attendee Experience (accessibility, sustainability, inclusivity)
• Communications (website content, outreach, social media)
• Professional Visits (organising visits to local organisations)
• Hybrid (designing & supporting the hybrid conference experience)

iPRES 2026 Committees Expression of Interest

The Local Organising Committee of iPRES 2026 is seeking volunteers to help us organise the upcoming conference in Copenhagen. Whether you are new to iPRES or have attended several times we value your opinion in the preparations, so please choose between the committees below to be involved. Be sure to complete and submit this form by 16 February 2026. Although it is great to have much help we cannot guarantee a placement in a committee. The committees and teams are described below: Programme Committee, including reviewers The Programme Committee oversees the selection, organisation and scheduling of content for iPRES, to ensure that it meets the expectations of attendees and relates to the conference themes of Community, Preservation and Horizon. Attendee Experience Committee This committee is dedicated to make sure that all participants have the best possible experience when attending iPRES 2026, whether attending virtual or in-person, for the first time or as a returning attendee. Hybrid Committee The overall purpose of the Hybrid Committee is to fulfil the needs of virtual attendees, so that they have the best possible experience when attending iPRES 2026, despite different time zones etc. Professional Visits Committee The Professional Visits Committee is dedicated to give the attendees an extra experience by visiting one or two relevant Danish institutions or companies to hear of their work. To make sure all attendees have the opportunity to attend, this should also include virtual visits. Communications Team The Communications Team works closely with the committees to create official communications for the conference, and to share information with local and regional networks. All volunteers as well as participants in the conference must adhere to our Code of Conduct in all aspects of the conference.
