#NYC Mayor #EricAdams has gone waaaaaaay too far & this #NewYorker is shocked. He just asserted that the #police & #FirstResponders can #involuntarily #commit a #homeless person if they cannot meet their own "basic human needs" (instead of just they're a danger to self or others).

It is well known that helping someone get off the street requires multilevel assistance w/ health & housing. Imprisoning someone for suffering from #MentalHealth issues shouldn't be so easy.
