If you are a #weirdo like me, and enjoy reading #legal documents, particularly when written by judges or lawyers who have a real flair for writing, and if you are #weirder and like following the legal and #constitutional aspects of the USA's descent into #fascism even though you are not #USAnian and do not live in the USA, then the ruling written by Justice William G. Young in the case about the administration violating the free speech rights of noncitizens legally in the #USA is an absolute corker.

The entire thing is good, but at 161 pages, it's a bit of a slog, particularly because it has to document the entire timeline of the case.

Instead, start reading at page 149.

Why? The last dozen pages are explicitly laying out the legal and constitutional problems with Donald #Trump himself. This text is something that should have been published months ago in the New York Times or The Atlantic or some other serious #journalism outlet. That it takes a judge to write it is the ultimate indictment of the USA's mainstream #media.

Elsewhere, he also calls out Congress and the fourth estate for their failures to rein in the aspiring dictator, though he has to tread carefully while doing it.

Masking #invective terms and #slurs by default in publications does not solve the problem of quoting as a form of using these terms, but leaves it up to the readers whether they want to be exposed to these expressions. Unfortunately not a standard feature in most scientific journals.
