i need a platform that has the best mixture of the following platforms:
reddit - the size and the structure and the potential reach
blogger - the ability to autosave as you type, similar to google docs but on a more public platform that blogger provides.
telegram - not having to deal with karma when you communicate with people. telegram is ok for chat. but then, there lots of little chats. its not like a ....what. what is it missing. i mean, maybe certain aspects of it are *too exclusive*. in that, the reach of telegram might not be the best. there's discord then. so i could make discord be one of the "objects" in this "abstract"
discord - maybe has better reach than telegram. but what i don't like about discord is that i can't forward messages to myself like i can on telegram. i wish discord would allow users to forward messages to themselves to stay on top of things for context etc. also i wish the mobile version of discord would allow 2 users so you could have a user profile for your online stuff and then another profile for real life family / friends
forum - not having to deal with karma when you communicate with people. however the issue with a forum is that, which one do i go to? someone might say "well goto the one that's related to the stuff you want to talk about" but i may not have one specific thing i want to talk about. so in that respect, there needs to be a type of forum technology that's similar to reddit but also to mastodon / lemmy in that it should have a common technology federating it like activitypub, but the issue with mastodon is that it doesn't autosave as you type. so its a little scarrier to write longer posts on there. of course i could type first on google docs or blogger. but as you can see i'm starting to need to digress because of the tangents i'm going into.
mastodon - not having to deal with karma when you communicate with people. mastodon could use an autosave function like blogger. also, more mastodon servers need to allow 1000 character posts. 500 characters is not enough. also the compose box should be a lot bigger. especially if we are typing 1000 or 2000 character posts that autosave as we type.
